Welcome Back CU FIMRC!

Welcome back Clemson FIMRC! I am so excited to see what 2017 has in store for FIMRC locally and globally. As we start this semester, I hope you all start taking advantage of opportunities to serve the local community.  While global clinics are FIMRC’s primary focus, our other goal is to address the needs in the Clemson area. Our Director of Local Projects expresses her passion for FIMRC and local projects:

“One of the best aspects of FIMRC is the fact that we are involved both on a global and local scale. We have opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of those in other countries and our own communities! Recently the Clemson chapter of FIMRC has participated in a large variety of new community projects. In the Fall of 2016 we were volunteers for Mauldin Miracle League, a baseball league for adults and children with physical and mental disabilities. We also helped decorate the Shriners Chrildrens Hospital in Greenville for Halloween. Other hands-on interaction came through our involvement with Helping Hands. Our volunteers attended this center for abused children and showed them love and many fun-filled afternoons! To get into the spirit of the holidays our members participated in Operation Christmas Child by filling four boxes with toys and everyday necessities to be sent to children in poverty-stricken areas who would normally not receive any gifts. It is amazing to be able to show our love for others in such a variety of ways!” – Jillian Robert

It’s awesome how much we’ve been able to accomplish in the Clemson area, especially this past semester.  While we can’t by any means cure all diseases or end all poverty and pain, showing people we care can start to help :)
